Could a small, focused app make it easier to actually stay on top of your health, without the bloat every wellness app seems to carry?

The idea

That was the question behind VitalMate. It started in the final season of Buildspace's Nights and Weekends, a program built around shipping something real in a short window of time.

How it came together

• Went looking for people already frustrated with existing health apps, not people who might theoretically want one. Reddit threads turned out to be full of them.
• Used that feedback to sharpen what the product actually needed to do, and just as importantly, what it didn't.
• Moved into Figma to turn the idea into something people could actually look at and react to. Screens, flows, an identity that felt calm rather than naggy.

Where it landed

VitalMate never made it to a working build. What's live is the concept site, a snapshot of the research, the direction, and the thinking that shaped it.
